Last week at the Lifelong Learning Centre we have witnessed a blend of challenges and successes. Despite facing tough circumstances, we are proud to share significant progress in two of our key projects dedicated to supporting veterans and their families.
The first initiative managed by our powerful team, falls under the “Reintegration of Veterans through Educational Opportunities.” This project is implemented by the German Adult Education Association – Institute for International Cooperation (DVV International in Ukraine) and is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office. It aims to facilitate the seamless reintegration of veterans into civilian life through tailored educational programs.
Our second initiative, led in collaboration with psychologists from Sumy Hospital of War Veterans, was co-presented with Victoria Sukhareva, “Strength of Spirit: Comprehensive Psychological Support for Veterans and Their Families in the Sumy Region,” is managed in partnership with ISAR Unity and supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine. This project receives funding from the European Union and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as part of the “EU4Recovery – Strengthening Community Capacities in Ukraine” project. It focuses on providing enduring psychological support to veterans and their families, helping them cope with the challenges of reintegration.
These projects were showcased during a strategic session that aimed to develop an ecosystem for the reintergration of veterans and their family members in the Sumy community and Lebedyn community. The sessions highlighted our commitment to using advanced technology and innovative approaches even under unstable conditions.
Our efforts have garnered significant appreciation from our donors, who value organizations that remain committed to their regions and demonstrate excellence under challenging circumstances. We are hopeful and confident that this support will continue in the years to come, allowing us to further our mission.
Dr. Hanna Shvindina and the Lifelong Learning Centre team are grateful for the ongoing support and look forward to continuing these vital projects which make a real difference in the lives of veterans and their families.
