In December 2023, the practice-oriented course aimed at the integration of veterans and their families, titled “When We Come Home…,” was successfully conducted. The course focused on critical issues related to trauma and its impact on life, covering topics such as collective, transgenerational, and individual trauma, the effects of childhood trauma, understanding combat stress, PTSD, and the long-term psychological consequences of military experience. The trainings were dedicated to methods of helping overcome the effects of trauma and the impact of traumatic experiences on future generations and society. The course was developed based on a deep conviction of the necessity to familiarize a broad audience with advanced practices in trauma work and veteran support. The trainer and mentor are Dr. Viktoria Rateeva, a psychologist and psychotherapist with many years of practical experience.
The project is managed by NGO “Lifelong Learning Centre” and funded by DVV International in Ukraine with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office.
