From October 2023 to December 2024, the project “Reintegration of War Veterans through Educational Opportunities” aimed to facilitate the reintegration of veterans and their families through education, psychological support, and skill development for professional and personal growth.

Key Project Outcomes:

The project engaged 695 participants, including 359 members of the target audience: veterans, and their family members.

  • Educational Programs: Participants had the opportunity to attend modern courses that opened new professional horizons and supported personal growth. These included:
    • A course on psychological self-support and resilience, helping veterans cope with emotional challenges and regain inner balance.
    • A course on modern Ukrainian literature, immersing participants in cultural contexts and exploring contemporary themes through the art of storytelling.
    • Courses in SMM (Social Media Marketing) and digital marketing, providing practical skills in social media management and brand-building in the digital space.
    • A course on creating and promoting products, teaching participants to develop, market, and sell innovative solutions.
    • A course on project management, equipping participants with planning, organization, and implementation skills for various fields.

Additionally, the project organized a “Drone School,” where participants learned how to operate and assemble drones.

  • Mental Health Aid & Support: Individual sessions with qualified psychologists helped participants adapt to civilian life, overcome emotional barriers, and strengthen their mental health.
  • Entrepreneurial Support: With the help of mentors and grant programs, some participants launched their own businesses, marking a new chapter in their professional lives.
  • Physical Rehabilitation: The project provided professional rehabilitation sessions and consultations for injured veterans and their family members.

Project Significance:

The project became a vital tool in supporting veterans, helping them not only gain new knowledge but also feel integrated into an active social environment. It demonstrated how educational opportunities can reintegrate individuals who have faced significant life challenges into new social and professional realities.

“We not only provided participants with new knowledge but also helped them regain confidence in their abilities and believe in the future,” said the project coordinator and executive director of the NGO Lifelong Learning Centre, Dr. Hanna Shvindina.

The project’s outcomes stand as a vivid example of how education and support can serve as a driving force for positive change in the lives of individuals and society as a whole.
