On the 11th of March, this Saturday, the Round Table on “Mental Health Support for Residents in Times of War and After it” took place. That was networking aimed at reconnecting the hotheads who work in mental health support at many levels.

Today, it is hard to overestimate the damage the war has done to Ukraine. If material damage can be reimbursed and it is visible, then psychological damage is challenging to monitor and estimate the consequences. Consult a mental specialist should become a standard practice, as with any other health service. At this meeting, the participants discussed the outcomes of our first initiatives, brainstormed about scaling up the aid, and formed fruitful partnerships with many decision-makers at many levels of the cities in the region.

In the round table discussion, participants included Yegor Zinchenko, the representative of MedAir in Ukraine for the Sumy region; psychologists Oksana Ivantsova and Marina Troitska; Maria Litvinenko, representatives of the Sumy City Council, personally Oksana Kubrak, representatives of the Sumy Military Administration, personally Liudmyla Romanyuk, Olena Volkova, the Deputy Mayor of the city of Trostyanets, Olena Kirieieva, acting Mayor of the city of Lebedyn, and others.
