In times of despair and uncertainty, it is extremely important to do something meaningful in a certain time frame, namely, small and clear tasks divided to fit into the multi-colored puzzle of a large-scale international project. With the beginning of the war, our efforts brought tangible results, such as new partners, new ideas, new projects, and new meanings. Educational activities were combined with humanitarian aid, and conferences on the exchange of educational practices were complemented with the search for donors and benefactors for the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities.
The Urban X Change project received a new turn in its development starting in the spring of 2022. As part of the project, online and offline events were held in Celle and Sumy, and an educational festival took place in Celle in July.
And in November, a festival was planned in the city of Sumy. As a result, more than 35 events of different scopes and scales were held as part of the Festival of Informal Education “Art of Living Together”. Instead of one day, the events took place over a week, from November 21 to 27 inclusive. And thus, more than 200 participants took part in the event, both online and offline.
The events were organized as part of the Urban X-Change Network project in cooperation with VHS of Celle (National University from the German sister city of Sumy) with the support of Sumy State University and DVV International in Ukraine and financed by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.
