On April 2–3, 2026, a study visit for representatives of Adult Learning and Education Centres took place in Lviv.

The study tour brought together heads and managers of centres from different regions of Ukraine. Representing the NGO Lifelong Learning Centre, Project Manager Stanislav Kotenko took part in the visit.

The main purpose of the programme was to exchange experience among partners, explore effective practices, and strengthen cooperation in the field of adult learning and education.

During the first day of the visit, participants became acquainted with local initiatives. They visited the Coordination Centre for Non-Formal Adult Education, where they learned more about the activities of the Network of Education Centres and Lviv’s participation in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.

The programme also included presentations by the Institute of the City of Lviv under the Lviv City Council and the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship. In addition, participants visited the City Museum and the Lviv Youth Centre, where they learned more about the development of youth policy and the city’s experience as a youth capital.

The second day focused on social support and inclusion. The delegation visited the UNBROKEN rehabilitation centre, where participants explored approaches to the recovery and rehabilitation of people affected by the war. They also visited a library for the blind and a social café, both of which operate to support the local community.

Overall, the study visit combined an educational component, practical acquaintance with the city’s institutions, and networking opportunities for representatives of adult education centres. This event became another important step toward strengthening cooperation among organisations working to develop the field of adult learning and education in Ukraine.

The event was organised by the Representative Office of DVV International in Ukraine in cooperation with the NGO “Network of Education Centres” within the framework of the project “Professionalisation of Adult Learning and Education (ALE) Centres in Europe (2019–2027)”, with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ).
