On August 28, 2025, the NGO “Lifelong Learning Centre”, with the support of DVV International, held a stakeholder meeting within the framework of the project “Reintegration of War Veterans and Servicewomen through Educational Opportunities: Ours for Ours.” The event focused on discussing priorities and directions for the development of professional education, retraining, and upskilling opportunities for veterans, servicewomen, and family members of defenders.
The meeting brought together representatives of local authorities, veteran organizations, vocational and higher education institutions, businesses, the civic sector, as well as project beneficiaries.
In the opening session, participants were welcomed by Hanna Shvindina, Stanislav Kotenko, and Mykola Zaritskyi, who emphasized the importance of education as a powerful tool for successful reintegration into civilian life.
A particularly moving part of the event was the personal story shared by an invited veteran, who spoke about the challenges and opportunities of professional growth after military service.
The program included discussions and presentations on:
- proposals in the field of vocational education and training;
- experience of university programs (speakers – Andriana Kostenko, Oksana Shovkoplias);
- opportunities for business education;
- professional development programs for specialists working with veterans (Tetiana Ivanova).
Thanks to the facilitation by Andriana Kostenko and Olena Kupenko, the meeting became a platform for constructive dialogue and joint work on proposals to enhance educational opportunities for veterans and their families.
The Lifelong Learning Centre and DVV International in Ukraine sincerely thank all participants for their active engagement and contributions. Together, we are building a future where veterans and servicewomen can access meaningful opportunities for professional development and dignified reintegration.
